Moore’s Allsorts is a small well established family run business, who are based on the outskirts of Pontefract, West Yorkshire.

The business which began back in the summer of 1990, has been built up by the proprietor - Alison Moore, who manufactures and distributes wholesale and retail confectionery nation-wide.

The products range from modern day conventional chocolate bars, Jelly sweets, Toffees, Chocolates, Truffles, Fudges, Nougat’s, bygone confectionery and have a wide variety of old fashioned and unusual liquorice from around the world. The number of products available is now around 800.

Some of the products are exclusive to Moore’s Allsorts and are manufactured, purely for us. Almost half of the products are confectionery of yesteryear and cannot be found in many retail outlets in the high street. Almost all the products can be found in their 2 shops, in Selby and Castleford.

Moore’s are a member of the Yorkshire Pantry Group. They are based at Northallerton and promote the manufacturing and retailing of food in the Yorkshire area. All of their street markets are attended throughout the year at York. Easter(April) / September / St. Nicholas Fayre (December).

The business also travels far and wide around the UK attending many show events, craft fairs, markets and racecourses.

Alison Moore has during the last 10 years spent a great deal of time researching the market and acquiring knowledge and information on manufacturing confectionery and the history of liquorice throughout the years up to it’s present time. Now she is actively engaged in speaking to Ladies groups, Luncheon clubs and children's school educating them in the history of liquorice, how it is manufactured, and the health benefits of liquorice. The fee for speaking to a group is £20 plus travelling expenses.
